With reference to your letter No 14943/15
of the 8th April I have the honour to inform you that
R. Roddick, Lance Sergeant of Police, Hong Kong, has applied to ue for the post of Superintendent of Police
in Nigeria. We have interviewed him and consider him
suitable for the appointment.
2. Before accepting the appointment he desires
to know whether the period of his services in Hong
Kong will count towards pension in the event of his
being placed on the permanent staff in Nigeria.
3. With regard to paragraph 2 of your letter
we shall be glad to know whether in the event of
Roddick's transfer to Nigeria, he will be entitled
to retain any leave in connection with his service
in Hong Kong. If engaged for Nigeria he would not
be required to sail until October next.
